Dispatch #0

Creative Loafing is an ode to the Atlanta newspaper of the same name — and to the idea of sauntering with purpose, of loitering with intent.
We are starting with Bengaluru.
Not because it is special, but because you have to start somewhere.
For now, this comes from a small set of sources, places we trust, things we have attended, and events that pass a simple test: they are loaf-worthy.
Loaf-worthy means you would happily block a few hours for it.
No pressure to network.
No pressure to document.
You show up, you stay, you leave lighter than you arrived.
Creative Loafing is curated, not comprehensive.
That is intentional.
A film screening where the conversation starts after the credits.
A book discussion that wanders and does not rush to conclusions.
A board game night where strangers stop being strangers.
A cycle ride that earns your coffee the hard way.
None of this trends.
Most of it does not scale.
That is not a bug.
Creative Loafing is about noticing.
Less scroll. More stroll.
This week, in Bengaluru, there are puzzles to solve with people you have not met, films that deserve a proper screen, games that do not involve a phone, and a long ride through reservoirs and backroads if you are inclined.
Pick one thing. Go to it.
Do not try to do everything. That is missing the point.
We will expand to other cities — [MAA], [BOM], [DEL], and more — slowly, when there is a rhythm worth paying attention to.
If you are wondering what Creative Loafing is (and is not), there is more context on the About and FAQ pages.
Previous dispatches, when they exist, will live here.
And if you know a place, a gathering, or an event that feels genuinely loaf-worthy, say hello at hello@creative-loafing.in.
This dispatch will arrive once a week.
No promises beyond that.[c-l]
